Coronavirus: Global death toll reaches 2,814,899

The global death count from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,814,899 as of Thursday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 128,791,500 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 22,230,890 infected patients 22,134,325 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 96,565 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 73,017,410 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 52 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Wednesday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 9,046.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 611,295 as 5,358 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
