Covid-19 has infected over 2.57 crore people in India, with over 2.76 lakh fresh cases in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning, reports NDTV.

The death count has touched 2,87,122 with 3,874 more dying of the infection.

Many states are reporting black fungus cases in those recovered.

Over 20.55 lakh samples were tested for the infection in the last 24 hours, accounting for the highest single-day tests in the country so far.

After Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh have the highest number of infections.

The Indian government has approved Rapid Antigen Kits to conduct Covid tests at home. The Indian Council of Medical Research has issued detailed guidelines on who can use it and how.
