Govt allows export-oriented factories to run from Aug 1

Export-oriented manufacturing factories got the government nod to resume operations from August 1 amid the ongoing lockdown.

The Cabinet Division on Friday issued a notification to this effect.

The government enforced strict lockdown from July 23 to check Covid-19 infection, which rose sharply in recent weeks.

The government earlier refused the requests of factory owners to allow production amid the ongoing strict lockdown, citing a rapid surge in Covid-19 cases across the country.
