FBCCI seeks unconditional extension of loan classification facility

The FBCCI has sought unconditional extension of loan classification facility till June next year as affected business community is still struggling for the economic activities have not returned to normalcy due to the Covid pandemic.

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Md Jashim Uddin on Sunday urged the Bangladesh Bank to make an announcement soon over the facility extension.

He came up with the call at the Annual General Meeting 2019-2020 of FBCCI at the Officer's Club Dhaka in the morning.

Jashim Uddin said the extension of loan classification facility would bring relief to traders and expedite economic recovery.

He also called on the National Board of Revenue not to finalise the new income tax law hurriedly.

“As there is a law already in place, the new law should be formed through discussion with the FBCCI and other stakeholders.”

He said Bangladesh will have to face a number of challenges during the post-LDC graduation.
The business community in the country must work together to meet the challenges and take advantage of the potential of developing countries.
