The Income Tax department is carrying out survey operations at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) India offices in Delhi and Mumbai for the third day on Thursday.

The survey operations by the I-T sleuths at the BBC offices are part of an investigation into alleged tax evasion that started on Tuesday around 12 pm, reports India Today.

The I-T officials are present inside the office premises at the BBC's office in Mumbai's Santacruz for the third day and the assessment of accounts is going on.

The survey teams are seeking answers on financial transactions, the company structure and other details about the news company, and are copying data from electronic gadgets as part of their task of collecting the evidence, tax officials told PTI.

The taxmen had shared a document with the editors of the BBC which states they have permission to conduct the survey for three days, sources told India Today.

Meanwhile, all BBC employees have been instructed to work from home till further notice.
