Mindray, a well-known global provider of medical devices and solutions based in China, has shown interest in expanding its operations in Bangladesh, recognising the significant market potential in the region.
The company has already established its presence in India’s Kolkata and is now looking to bring its expertise to the medical device industry in Bangladesh.
Numerous prestigious medical institutions in Bangladesh have already integrated Mindray products into their healthcare delivery system. These institutions include Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, BIRDEM Hospital and Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The company has a wide range of medical devices, including patient monitoring systems, anaesthesia machines, ultrasound machines and diagnostic equipment. Mindray has a reputation for delivering reliable and high-quality devices that meet the needs of healthcare professionals worldwide.
The company has products used in 190 countries and regions, 18,000 workers worldwide and more than 60 subsidiaries across the globe. Their 24 per cent of the employees are working on research and development of new products and ideas.
Mindray has 12 R&D centres where more than 4,400 experts work while 10 per cent of the company’s annual revenue is being spent on the purpose of innovating new products.
During a recent visit to Mindray's headquarters in China’s Shenzhen, the company's South Asia IVD Sales and Marketing Manager Gary Guo provided more details about their plans to expand their operations in the South Asian region.
He acknowledged the increasing demand for medical equipment in Bangladesh and stated that the company plans to establish an office in Dhaka in the near future.
He mentioned that Mindray has been closely monitoring Bangladesh’s healthcare market and has recognised the need for more accessible and affordable medical equipment.
Guo also noted that the establishment of an office in Dhaka will allow Mindray to provide better support and services to its customers in Bangladesh and strengthen the company's presence in the region.
The new office will offer a wide range of medical equipment, including diagnostic imaging systems, patient monitoring systems and laboratory equipment, he said.

Mindray has seven types of solutions for hospitals and diagnostic centres, including emergency care, critical care, minimally invasive surgery and laboratory diagnostics.

Safe medication saves patients' lives because, medication error is a major cause of death, estimated to cost around $42 billion globally every year. Among them, administering the wrong drug is one of the most common types of mistake.
As patient safety is of paramount importance for all hospitals, safe medication is the No 1 focus besides patient care. Mindray has introduced an infusion pump, and the technology it adopts sets a new standard in infusion safety and accuracy.
For medical imaging services, Mindray has developed advanced technologies. For focal liver lesions, such as haemangioma or liver cancer, ultrasound contrast imaging plays a significant role.
