Indian man with no foreign travel history tests positive for monkeypox

A 31-year-old man in Delhi with no foreign travel history has tested positive for monkeypox virus, making it the fourth case of the infection in India.

The patient was admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital two days ago, with a history of two weeks of fever and rashes, Indian Express reported.

“We suspected that he had monkeypox and admitted him to our isolation ward. Later he tested positive for monkeypox. He is being given symptomatic treatment,” the hospital authority said.

Although the man has no history of international travel, he had travelled to Himachal Pradesh before falling sick.
