An elderly woman was killed and two males wounded in a shooting incident at a university campus in New Orleans, US on Tuesday.
The incident happened after high school graduation was held at the campus and an altercation between two females erupted into gunfire, reports USA Today.
One of the males was hit in the shoulder, and the other in a leg. Their injuries were not life-threatening, authorities told news outlets.
The gunfire occurred near the Xavier University of Louisiana Convocation Center, where Morris Jeff Community School held its high school graduation Tuesday morning.
Deputy Superintendent Chris Goodly told reporters he did not know whether the people who fought in the parking lot were the ones who pulled guns, or how many guns or bullets were fired.
He called the incident “a senseless act of violence.”
Investigators detained at least three people at the scene for questioning but had not made any arrests as of Tuesday afternoon, USA Today added.
