People from different walks of life organised a protest on Friday in Baluwatar against rape and sexual violence incidents.
The protest was organised after a rape victim made public her ordeal through various social media platforms, reports The Kathmandu Post.
As per the videos posted by the victim, she was raped by the organisers of Miss Global International following her participation at the event in 2014. She alleged that the perpetrators called her to a hotel room and raped her. The victim has claimed that her abusers continued exploiting her sexually for at least six months, blackmailing her with her photographs and videos.
The demonstrators demanded an end to the statute of limitations on cases of rape and other sexual offences and setting up fast-track courts to look into cases of rape and sexual violence among others.
