New Delhi on Tuesday dismissed Beijing's attempt to rename several places in Arunachal Pradesh saying assigning invented names will not alter the reality that the state will always be an integral and inalienable part of India.

"China has persisted with its senseless attempts to rename places in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. We firmly reject such attempts,” Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in an official statement in New Delhi.

The MEA statement came a day after Beijing released a fourth list of 30 new names of various places in the Indian north-eastern state, reports BSS.

The list of standardised geographical names in Zangnan, the Chinese name for Arunachal Pradesh which Beijing claims as part of South Tibet, was released on Sunday by the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs.

The official website of the ministry posted 30 additional names for the region.
