BabyTube, a video-sharing app developed in Bangladesh and based on YouTube for the healthy mental growth of children, has successfully raised a pre-seed investment of Tk 50 lakh.

The investment was led by HR Limited Deputy Managing Director Hasnain Abdullah Nasif, and renowned Businessman Saidul Karim Mintu, indicating a significant vote of confidence in the platform's mission, according to a press release.

Founded by Samim Asraf, serving as the CEO, and Sazzadul Islam as the chief technical officer, BabyTube aims to provide a safe and enriching digital space for children. The platform boasts a strict policy against inappropriate content, ensuring that only educational videos are accessible to its young audience.

However, no one will be able to upload inappropriate video content for children if they want. BabyTube has been operating since April 2021.

The investment raised will be used to make BabyTube more functional and better usable, as well as to take various steps to reach its users across the country.

BabyTube aims to connect the children of Bangladesh with technology day by day. Most children watch videos on social media. Inappropriate videos of children on social platforms are increasing. This is increasing anxiety for parents.

BabyTube is designed to help kids and teens watch healthy, safe, and educational videos. The platform received grants from A2i and Idea Project and was awarded the Smart Bangladesh Award in 2023.

BabyTube is conducting online awareness programmes and various campaigns on educational institutions, the garment industry, and government and private organisations doing multiple activities to create awareness.

Samim Asraf said BabyTube emphasise that children can watch video content for fun and various advantages.
