Another dead whale washed ashore at Dariyanagar point of Himchari beach in Ramu of Cox's Bazar on Saturday, a day after another dead whale was found at the area.
Cox's Bazar South divisional forest officer M Humayun Kabir said that the rotting carcass bore marks of injuries at places and the cause of its death could not be known immediately.
The 43-feet long whale weighs approximately 10 tonnes, he said.
Humayun said that a team comprising representatives of forest department, environment department, and fisheries department would collect samples from the carcass and then it would be dumped on the beach.
Marine life expert Zahirul Islam told journalists that the whale that was found on Saturday was a male of Bryde's whale species.

Green activists in Cox's Bazar suspect that there might be some disaster in deep sea and it caused deaths of marine life.
Sultan Al Nahiyan, scientific officer at Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute, they were unable to identify the causes of deaths of the whales only through examining the marks of injuries.
Post-mortem examinations of the whales would be carried out at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University.
Ramu upazila nirbahi officer Pranay Chakma said that the whale found on Friday was dumped after collection of viscera for post-mortem examination. Same would be done for the Saturday's whale, he said.
Cox's Bazar deputy commissioner M Mamunur Rashid said that they were giving proper importance on washing ashore of two whales in a span of 24 hours. A committee would be formed comprising representatives of government, non-government organisations working the issue, he added.
