The Business Post Photojournalist Shamsul Haque Ripon on Tuesday was awarded in a photo competition arranged by Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB).
Two of Ripon’s photographs got awarded. Among them, one photograph placed third in the "Bangladesh Tourism Board Photo Competition 2022".
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali handed over the cash price.
“I have already visited different places in 56 districts of Bangladesh. I felt that whatever I am seeing needed to be held in memory. Since then I started taking pictures. Meanwhile, an online news portal asked me to join them, in the year 2012. Since then my professional photojournalism started. I worked at Daily Kaler Kantho, Daily Vorer Pata, Priyo News, NTV Online. Currently, I am working as a staff photojournalist at The Business Post,” Ripon said.
“I believe photojournalism to be a really significant career. Because a photographer may capture multiple memories and historical events in a single image,” he added.
