A Dhaka court on Saturday placed a financier named Jabed Ahmed on a two-day remand in a case lodged over a clash with the police in front of the BNP's central office in Nayapaltan area of the capital.

Besides, the court sent two other financiers, engineers Faruq Alam and Mizanur Rahman, to jail.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ataullah passed the order as police produced them before the court and pleaded to place them on a seven-day remand.

After hearing, Ataullah granted two-day remand to Jabed and also ordered Faruq and Mizanur to send behind the bar denying their remand plea.
