DSCC removes 9,500 tonnes of animal wastes

Around 9,500 tonnes of wastes of the animals, which were slaughtered on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul Azha, have been removed from the areas under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

The DSCC cleared the massive amount of animal wastes from 11:00pm on July 9 to 1:00am on July 11, said a media statement on Monday.

The city corporation has also removed all the wastes of sacrificial animals from 75 wards within 1:15am on Monday.

It is also conducting a special operation to remove the wastes on the second day of Eid, added the statement.

On the other hand, 80 per cent of the wastes of sacrificial animals were removed from the areas under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Sunday.

Earlier, DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam said that the wastes of sacrificial animals would be removed from the streets of Dhaka city within 12 hours of the slaughter.
