Kabir Bin Anwar, senior secretary to the water resources ministry, has taken charge as the new cabinet secretary on Thursday.
Kabir Bin Anwar took up the new position after the tenure of Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam expires on the same day.

Earlier, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on December 11 over his new appointment. Kabir joined Bangladesh Civil Service on February 15, 1988 as an assistant commissioner.
Kabir Bin Anwar, a career civil servant, was born on January 1, 1964 in Sirajganj under the Rajshahi division. He completed his SSC and HSC from Residential Model School and College, Dhaka.
Thereafter he got admitted to Dhaka University’s (DU) economics department and completed his MSS in political science.
