9 KNF members arrested in Bandarban

A joint team of law enforcers – led by the army – has arrested nine members of armed militant outfit Kuki-Chin National Front, commonly known also as KNF, from the remote hilly regions of Ruma upazila under Bandarban district.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) made the disclosure in a press release issued Tuesday, adding that the team confiscated nine arms and ammunition from the arrestees.

KNF recently came under the spotlight after committing robberies and attempted robberies in two upazilas of Bandarban. The militant outfit initially began their journey demanding a separate state in the hilly region.
