Original Black is back!
— Collected

Formed in Dhaka in 1998, Black is a Bangladeshi alternative rock band. The band's core trio was Jon Kabir (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Mushfeque Jahan (lead guitar), and Tony Vincent (drums). They were quickly joined by Mahmudul Karim Miraz on bass guitar, solidifying the line-up. In 2000, Tahsan Rahman Khan brought his keyboard and vocal talents to the band.

A contract with G-Series launched Black into the mainstream.  Their 2002 debut album, "Amar Prithibi," was a breakthrough.  The band has released five more studio albums and contributed to mixed albums.  Their latest, "Unomanush," arrived in 2016 via G-Series.

Black fans rejoice! The band recently announced a reunion and upcoming performances via a video on their Facebook page. This exciting news coincides with their participation in the "Rock N Rhythm 4.0" concert.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the former members came together on a Facebook live, kick-starting speculation about a reunion.

"Honestly, I miss all of us together. We all had our differences, but we always had respect for each other. In two decades, we all achieved a lot, but truly, the authenticity we had when we performed together was something that I craved," said Tahsan, according to Dailystar.

"I don't want to spoil anything, but there is a huge announcement for the show that is yet to come," he added.

"Rock N Rhythm 4.0" will hit Dhaka on May 10 with a legendary line up.  Renowned artists Oni Hasan, Recall, Popeye Bangladesh, Faruque Bhai Project, and Cryptic Fate are all confirmed to perform.  And there's a chance to see the original members of Black reunite on stage.
