The Russian House in Dhaka, in cooperation with Mohakhali High School, organised an event on Thursday dedicated to the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture.

P Dvoychenkov, the director of the Russian House in Dhaka, told the students about the history of the holiday, timed to coincide with the day of remembrance of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles brothers Methodius and Cyril, reads a press release.

As part of the celebration of the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture, a creative master class on writing the letters of the Russian alphabet was held for school students. The event was accompanied by a presentation on the Slavic alphabet created by Saints Cyril and Methodius.

The Day of Slavic Writing and Culture is a tribute to those who more than 1000 years ago compiled the Slavic alphabet and gave us the opportunity to read and write.

More than 200 students from the school took part in the event and the most active participants were presented with souvenirs.
