Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over four divisions and at a few places other four divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Rangpur divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country", said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9am Wednesday.

The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, reports BSS.

Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 35.6 degrees Celsius at Srimangal and the minimum temperature today was recorded at 23.7 degrees Celsius at Srimangal.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am Wednesday was recorded 88 millimetres (mm) at Nikli.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The sun sets Wednesday at 6:33pm and rises Thursday at 5:34am in the capital.
