Bangladesh Bank (BB) has appointed Muhammad Badiuzzaman Dider, who served as a director of the central bank's Chattogram office, as the administrator of digital financial service Nagad.
He has been made administrator for one year, according to an order issued by BB on Wednesday.
In order to facilitate the overall operations of the administrator, six more officials of the postal department have also been attached to Nagad.
They are Payment Systems Department (PSD) Division-2 Additional Director Md Habibur Rhaman, Joint Directors Aanwar Ullah and Palash Mondol, Joint Director of ICT Department Abu Sadat Mohammad Yasin, Deputy Director of PSD Division-2 Choyan Biswas and Deputy Director Md Ayub Khan of the same division.
Nagad is an innovative and promising digital financial service of Bangladesh Post Office that entered the market in March 2019.
After its inception, Nagad has financially included more than 70 million people only in four years.
