The Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) Bangladesh has recently donated Tk 30 lakh to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief to aid those severely affected in north-eastern and south-eastern Bangladesh.
This contribution is part of EO Bangladesh’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community support, read a press release issued on Friday.
The donation was officially handed over by Faatin Haque, president of EO Bangladesh along with Nafees M Khan, chair of Finance to the honourable Advisor Farooq e Azam, the Minister of Disaster Management and Relief at the ministry’s office.
This significant contribution is aimed at providing immediate relief to affected families, including essentials such as food, clean water, and medical supplies.
Heavy rainfall, as well as the stream of water released from a dam in India's Tripura, resulted the catastrophic floods have wreaked havoc across various regions, displacing thousands and causing widespread damage.
In response to this urgent humanitarian need, EO Bangladesh, a global network of entrepreneurs dedicated to fostering business growth and community impact, has mobilized resources to aid the relief operations.
“Our members and their businesses are committed to not only growing their enterprises but also contributing positively to the communities we serve,” said Faatin Haque, president of EO Bangladesh.
“We hope this contribution will provide some relief and support the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to help those in need,” she also stated.
However, the EO Bangladesh remains dedicated to collaborating with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to address both immediate and long-term needs arising from this disaster.
The organisation continues to encourage its members and the business community at large to support flood relief initiatives and contribute to rebuilding efforts.
