The national children's organisation Phulkuri Ashar held its Golden Jubilee Festival 2024 on Saturday in the city’s Krishibid Institute Auditorium. The day-long event began at 9am and ended at 8pm.
Former chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Muhammad Abdul Majeed inaugurated the event, while Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Saleh Hasan Naqib was present as the chief guest.
Spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption National Coordination Committee Sarwar Wadud Chowdhury, and national personalities Qayyum Reza Chowdhury, Dewan Sultan Ahmed, Professor Dr Syed Md Shamsuddin were present as special guests.

Former Chief Election Commissioner and Central President of Phulkuri Ashar Justice Mohammad Abdur Rauf presided over the event, while Phulkuri Ashar Chief Director Saiful Islam moderated the programme.
The festival – full of various events – was attended by more than 2,000 children, parents and well-wishers from all over the country. On the Golden Jubilee, 267 prizes were awarded in 11 competitions.
The programme included country song competition, suvarna jayanti short film festival, tree plantation, national science fair, mind marathon, storytelling competition, wall painting competition.
