Modern fairytale film ‘Hawa’ poster released

The poster of the much awaited film ‘Hawa’, directed by Mejbaur Rahman Suman, was unveiled on Friday. The poster instantly drew attention from the audiences after its release for its impressive and unconventional design.

Director Sumon has confirmed the news to The Business Post.

Sumon said, “This is the story of the journey of 8 fishermen and a woman to the sea. We have called the film a modern fairytale because we want to show a journey to the deep sea in a hyper realistic way and the ending will be absurd and unreal yet very interesting. There is a myth among the fisherman that no woman can be allowed at the trawler during fishing to the sea because women are considered as a bearer of bad luck. But you can see Tushi in the poster. That means we are trying to break the stereotyping thinking through this film.”

“We have already started the Censor clearance process. Hopefully we can submit the film in Censor board within 20 days. We are hoping to release the film within 3 months. As this is my first film, I want the audience to criticize it if they don’t like it. Though I have received a good response from the poster, so, I am very hopeful,” he added.

The poster features Chanchal Chowdhury, Nazifa Tushi, Shariful Islam Razz, Sumon Anowar, Shohel Mondol, Nasir Uddin Khan, Abdul Jabbar Chowdhury, Mahmud Hasan and Bablu Bose.

In the poster, Chanchal was seen holding Razz in one hand and looking behind.

The other actors seemed stressed and were trying to save Razz from falling. Nazifa Tushi was seen grabbed her hair by a person.

According to the director, this is not the story of the struggle of fishermen’s life, rather it is the story of modern fairy tales. The story is the modern representation of the mythology based on water.

The film was shot in Cox’s Bazar and Saint Martin area for 40 consecutive days in October, 2019.

Jahin Faruk Amin, Sukarna Shahed Dhiman and Mejbaur Rahman Sumon have written the script of the film based on the story and dialogue of Mejbaur Rahman Sumon.

The film was shot by Kamrul Hasan Khasru, edited by Sajal Alok and background music is done by Rashid Sharif Shoaib. The published poster was designed by Sabyasachi Mistry.
