Midas declares 5% dividend

Non-bank financial institute Midas Finance has announced a 5 per cent dividend with 2.5 per cent cash and 2.5 per cent stock for the shareholders for the year ended on December 31, 2020.

According to the company’s price sensitive information posted to Dhaka Stock Exchange’s (DSE) website on Tuesday, the board of directors of the company has recommended this proportion of dividend.

The dividend will be approved through the company’s AGM which will be held on digital platforms on September 20, reads the news. The company said, bonus shares have been recommended to strengthen liquidity growth of the company which will enhance the business growth of Midas Finance.

The company reported EPS of Tk 0.83 while its NAV per share of Tk 11.69 and NOCFPS (net operating cash flow per share) negative of Tk. 0.49 for the year ended on December 31, 2020.     

There was no price limit on the trading of the shares of the company on Monday following its corporate declaration. The company’s share price declined 3.43 per cent on Monday to Tk 19.70 during the day.

Meanwhile, Midas Finance posted its unaudited financial performance for the first quarter of this year. Earnings per share of the company has tumbled in first quarter of the company.

For January-March, the company’s EPS was negative of Tk 3.78, which was at Tk 0.11 for the same period of the last year.

On the other hand, Midas’s NOCFPS is positive for the first quarter of the current year, which was negative for the same period of the previous year.

The company’s NOCFPS was Tk 1.13 for January-March 2021 as

against its negative Tk 0.69 for January-March 2020 and consolidated NAV per share was Tk 7.91 as on March 31, 2021 and Tk 11.69 as on December 31, 2020.
