NLI First recommends 17.5% cash dividend

The board of trustees of NLI First Mutual Fund on Wednesday recommended 17.5 per cent cash dividend for the unit holders for the fiscal year 2020-21.

In a meeting held on August 4, the board of trustees has taken the decision of offering dividend for its unit holders for the year ended on June 30, 2021.

The meeting reviewed the audited financial statements for the FY21.

As per the financial statement of the company, earning per unit (EPU) of the fund stood at Tk 3.14, while NAV (net asset value) was Tk 15.32 in FY21.

In 2020, the fund disbursed 5 per cent cash dividend, while it gave 13 per cent in 2019. The PE ratio of the fund was 4.69 on August 3 2021.

On the day, per unit fund was traded at Tk 18.50, which was 2.78 per cent higher compared to previous session.

In recent times, investors have been pouring in their money in mutual fund, as the incumbent BSEC high officials are putting their efforts to popularise mutual funds.

Globally, mutual funds are considered less risky as professionals studying companies’ annual reports and analysing prospects invest in mutual fund units in favour of investors.

“Since I have little knowledge on capital market, I prefer to invest in mutual fund as the fund manager invest in good shares,” an investor of mutual fund told the Business Post on Wednesday.

NLI First Mutual Fund’s healthy dividend declaration would further drive investors for mutual fund.
