Desh General Insurance declares 10% dividend

Desh General Insurance has declared 10 per cent cash dividend for its shareholders for the year ended on December 31, 2020.

The company came up with the disclosure through a corporate declaration on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) website on Tuesday, saying that the figure was determined at a meeting of its board of directors held recently.

For the approval of the dividend, the company also decided to hold an annual general meeting on September 29 through digital platform, while the record date was set on September 13.

The company gave 12 per cent cash dividend to its shareholders in the previous year.

For FY20, the company reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 1.51, which was 14 per cent higher than Tk 1.32 of the previous year.

The net asset value (NAV) of the company also increased 2.66 per cent last year to stand at Tk 11.93, which was Tk11.62 in the previous year.

It reported net operating cash flow (NOCFPS) of Tk 2.08 for the year ended on December 31, 2020, which is 36 per cent higher than Tk 1.52 of the same period of the previous year.
