Stocks see steep rise

Dhaka stocks finished steeply higher on Tuesday after the flat session seen in the previous day.

At the end of the day’s trading, the benchmark DSEX index rose 70.4 points or 1 per cent to 7,048.

Shariah-based DSES index increased by 15.3 points or 1 per cent to 1,480, while the blue-chip index DS30 gained 25 points or 0.97 per cent to 2,660.

The DSE turnover stood at Tk 13,310 crore.

Stocks of 375 companies were traded, of which 274 gained in value, 69 declined and 32 remained unchanged.
