Three people were killed after a gunfight erupted between two local groups in Paitongpara area under Rajasthali upazila of Rangamati on Tuesday.
Locals said the gunfight took place between two regional armed groups around 09:00am.
"As the incident happened at a remote area, police could not reach the spot immediately," said Rangamati Additional Police Superintedent Mahmuda Begum.

"Details of the deceased were not immediately available," she added.
According to local sources, a team of the local Mog Party was on its way to Paitongpara after its regular patrol, when they were ambushed by another armed group. Gunfire erupted between the two sides and three people were killed.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Mog Party has not made any statements either.
