Abdullah Al Masud, a former leader of the Rajshahi University Chhatra League, was brutally attacked by a mob while purchasing medicine for his newborn daughter. The incident occurred near the Binodpur market adjacent to the university. Critically injured, Masud was taken to the police station and subsequently to a hospital where he passed away on Saturday night at 12:30 am.

The incident sparked outrage on social media as the attack's video went viral, drawing widespread condemnation and calls for justice for Masud’s killers. Esteemed filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki also could not ignore the viral video.

Urging an end to retaliatory politics, Farooki expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating, "The Rajshahi incident has shattered me. How can we look at the little child? Even if the father had committed a crime, who gave the mob the license to judge?"

He further added, "Stop the mob rule. Bring discipline. Otherwise, no reforms will work. I know the police force has been weakened, but we must find a way to address it. Everyone must unite and stop the mob mentality. We need to give the police more confidence and engage them. It can be determined later who is responsible for the revolution, who will reap the benefits, and who needs to be stopped and promoted. If we remain busy with this now, only chaos will increase. Fascist forces want this. Now, think about whether you will fulfil their desires or establish an effective government. Please..."

Addressing those involved in such acts, Farooki concluded, "To those who are doing these things, I say that not only are you committing a terrible crime, but you are also diverting everyone's attention. Instead, we should be discussing a white paper on the misdeeds of fascist forces, reforms, and an effective democracy with public participation!"
